New Chair elected

The National Association of councillors has elected a new chair. Councillor Maria Garrity was elected as chair of the National Association of Councillors. This is a term that will last two years and in on a rotation between each region of the UK. The new vice chair is Cllr Steve Brooks from Wales.

Cllr Garrity paid tribute to the outstanding work carried out by Cllr Eric Firth the outgoing chair of the NAC. She also said she was very proud to have been elected by the NAC as chair.

Cllr Garrity serves as a councillor on Glasgow City Council.
