Welcome to the National Association of Councillors

The NAC is the only organisation whose agenda is to represent councillors. It is the only all party voice for elected members which makes it unique in the political world.

The National Association of Councillors (NAC) promotes and enhances the role of Councillors and assists them to be as effective as possible in carrying out their responsibilities.

The NAC represents Councillors at all tiers of Local Government and is a non party political organisation.  The NAC is not only run for Councillors but by Councillors. One of  its  main activities is the provision of Conference/Training  weekends and these are held in various parts of the country.  Topics for Conference weekends have included Climate Change and the Environment,  Health and Wellbeing, Tackling Anti Social Behaviour in the Community and Community Engagement.  Inspiration for these topics comes from Councillors themselves.
